Lion’s Mane (hericium erinaceus) is a super mushroom often described as a ‘nootropic’ – a class of supplements that boost cognitive ability.

Traditional Chinese medicine practitioners have used Lion’s Mane for over 2000 years for a range of wellbeing benefits; boosting memory and cognitive function as well as promoting internal organ health.  Buddhist monks were known to use the powdered mushroom to improve their focus and enhance meditation. 

Our Lion’s Mane capsules are log grown, Organic certified and lab tested for heavy metals and other contaminants.  They contain the fruiting body of the mushroom in order to maximise the bioactive compounds, including terpenes and beta-glucans.  We also further extract the fruiting body with ethanol to ensure the full-spectrum of beneficial constituents are captured. Unlike tablets or pills, our capsules are tasteless, faster-acting and have higher bioavailability, so more Lion’s Mane is likely to enter your bloodstream.

Lion’s Mane is the most clinically studied of all the mushroom types which has driven its huge popularity throughout the West in recent years.

Research has shown Lion’s Mane to increase Nerve Growth Factor (NGF), which is responsible for the maintenance and growth of neurons in the brain.  Many neurological diseases such as Dementia, Parkinson’s and Huntington’s disease are linked to the degeneration of neurons over time, and it is thought that neurotrophic factors such as NGF may play a role in preventing these conditions.  Research has indicated that Lion’s Mane can repair, regenerate and protect nerve cells.
