Thank you to all our customers for their support over the last few months – with your help we have just planted our first batch of trees in the Indonesian rainforest with our friends at One Tree Planted.

From the very first ‘back of a fag packet’ plan for Mindful Extracts, running the business with as much positive impact as possible has been at the heart of our vision.  Protecting the environment and sustainability is a key part of that and we have taken many steps to do what we can as a business – from the organic hemp we use to produce our CBD Oils, to our fully recyclable packaging and even the couriers we use.

As a young business, it’s easy to feel like you’re too small to make a real difference – especially when the problems in the world feel so large (and sometimes far away).  So our partnership with One Tree Planted, in which we plant a tree in the Indonesian rainforest for every bottle of CBD Oil we sell, is proving a great way for us to have an influence on a far flung corner of the world – an area that really needs our help.

Indonesia has one of the highest deforestation rates in the world, with just under half of the original forest cover remaining due to demand of paper, plywood and palm oil.  The Javan tiger has already been pushed to extinction and many other species are seriously threatened by the widespread destruction of their habitat, including orangutans.  Trees are important for many more reasons, not least cleaning the air we breathe, the water we drink and moderating climate change. Tree planting programmes also create jobs and training for local people, so through our commitment to plant a tree for every purchase of our CBD oil we can have a real, lasting and positive impact on this important eco-system and its inhabitants.
